Momos| Dimsum | Dumplings

Ingredients  for dumpling dough

• Maida (all purpose flour) 2 cups
• Water as needed
• Oil 2 tbsp
• Salt

Method

• In a bowl, add 2 cups maida /all purpose flour.
• Next, add salt, oil.
• Include water as needed and knead well.
• Dough should be firm enough to roll it thin.
• Knead it well and keep it aside.

Ingredients  for Non-veg Stuffing

• Chicken breast (minced)
• Garlic finely chopped
• Green chilli 2 finely chopped 
• Salt
• Spring onion finely chopped
• Onion finely chopped
• Corriander leaves finely chopped
• Soya sauce 1 tsp
• Oil 1 tsp

Preparation Method

• In a food processor mince the chicken well.
• Now add the remaining ingredients, including salt and a tspn of oil along with Soya sauce.
• If you are planning to prepare the stuffing in advance, then add onion just before you prepare the momos. Else it would leave water.
• Roll the dough into thin sheets, and add the stuffing.
• Cover the momos  forming pleats one by one towards the end join the pleats.
• Steam cook for 15 to 20 minutes.

Ingredients for Veg filling

• Garlic finely chopped
• Green Chilli 2 finely chopped
• Cabbage finely chopped
• Carrot finely chopped
• Soya sauce 1 tsp
• Salt
• Spring Onion finely chopped
• Corriander leaves finely chopped
• Oil 2 tbsp

Preparation Method

• Take a wok, add Oil to it.
• Once oil is hot add the finely chopped garlic and green chilli.
• Sauté the cabbage and carrot. Do not add salt while on the stove.
• Allow this stuffing to cool down before adding the remaining ingredients.
• Once the stuffing cools add Soya sauce, Spring Onion, Corriander leaves.
• Add salt in the stuffing just before preparing the momos.
• Roll the dough into thin sheets, and add the stuffing.
• Cover the momos  forming pleats one by one towards the end join the pleats.
• Steam cook for 15 to 20 minutes.
